Went with Micro ATX form factor and single color RGB fans for simplicity. AMD processor with AMD graphic card is a plus. Sticked to standard 16GB RAM and 1TB NVMe and didn't go crazy with specs. No case mod cables as well but still looks good with neat cable management.

This project was based around deal hunting during Black Friday week in November 2023. My target for performance was midrange gaming but I also wanted to be somewhat future-proof. Because more and more games are starting to require a bloated amount of VRAM to run well, I thought it was best to get a video card with more than 8gb. So that narrowed things down to the 12gb 6700xt that was a solid price on black friday at microcenter.

At the time I built this Microcenter was having a sale (bundle on CPU, MOBO, and RAM) so thought why not. My budget was 1500 and the bundle helped me save about 300. I mostly play MMORPGs, so that's what this build is used for (Archeage, D4, etc). I was planning to build this closer to the release of Ashes of Creation but that deal kinda sealed it for me.

the main reason i built this desktop is to run the recently released game starfield. i was previously using a nvidia gtx... the main reason i built this desktop is to run the recently released game starfield. i was previously using a nvidia gtx 1060 6gb graphics card, so this upgrade was pretty much required for me to run this new game and decent settings. i know my setup is a little bit unusual as you can see in the picture. this is because i use a lot of ssd storage. and I mean A LOT of ssd storage. and so in my top primary pci-e slot i have an adapter that runs multiple m.2 ssds. i put my 7600xt graphics card in the bottom pci-e slot, which i know cuts my pci-e lanes in half from 16x to 8x. however, both my motherboard and my graphics card are pci-e 4.0 compatible. since my graphics card is running at the pci-e 4.0 interface, there is not a performance hit that is as significant as if i were reducing pci-e 3.0 lanes from 16x to 8x. ive had zero problems running my graphics card at 8x so far.

I wanted to build a great 1440p gaming build but didn't want to break the bank by getting a 3070 and both AMD CPUs and GPUs have really good deals right now. I have a 5600X and a 6700 XT. This build lets me play Modern Warfare II at over 120FPS with high settings with FidelityFX CAS at 80%. Using FSR would increase it. I also get 90-100 FPS on Fortnite with high graphics and Lumen/Nianite set to the first option.
