No matter when you decide to visit Vegas, try to plan a midweek trip – because this is a common weekend getaway destination, you'll find more rooms at lower rates between Tuesday and Thursday. Las Vegas is also home to hundreds of conventions each year, which can drive up room rates.
It is true that not every single club is open every day of the week, but you can rest assured that the week nights there will be multiple clubs open each night. The Las Vegas locals call these midweek parties industry nights or industry events. It's also nights where the locals and industry folks get to go out.
The Hoover Dam is located about 30 miles away from Las Vegas, making it an easy day trip for visitors to the city. Whether you decide to drive, take a tour bus, or join an organized day trip from Las Vegas, you can be sure that your visit to Hoover Dam will be worth the effort.
A 3-Day trip to Vegas allows just enough time for visitors to get a taste of what the city has to offer – and trust us, it has a lot! On a 3-Day Vegas Trip, visitors can see the flashing neon lights, eat at celebrity chef restaurants, gamble at flashy casinos and visit top attractions…and that's just Day One!
However, if you don't want to visit Las Vegas in January, August and October are also particularly cheap times of year to book tickets. That being said, temperatures can still be uncomfortably warm in these months.
The slowest times of year are parts of January and February; late June through August; the week before Christmas; and the week after New Year's. If a major convention is to be held during your trip, you might want to change your date. Contact the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (tel.
Local talent and internationally recognized performers all find their way to the stages of Downtown Las Vegas, and music is something that can easily be enjoyed without alcohol. There is something to jam out to in every genre and at every price point.
High season (March to May and September to November) has the best weather. Las Vegas is balmy by day and pleasantly cool at night in the spring and fall. March is probably the busiest month, but April to June and September to November are nearly perfect. High season does mean hotel and ticket prices soar, though.
There you have it - some great alternatives for things to do in Las Vegas besides gamble. We've got you covered with ideas ranging from amazing tours, exciting thrill rides, to world class shows and performances. Best yet, you can save on combined admission to many of these fun alternatives with a pass.
Of course, if you do want to visit without spending any money, you can walk along the top of the Hoover Dam for free. Parking anywhere on the Nevada side of the dam will cost you $10, but you can find a free lot on the Arizona side if you drive across the dam and up the hill past parking lot 9.
But the dam also caused environmental concerns. In particular, it changed the Colorado River's course, affecting fish habitats, sediment structures, water quality, and the capacity of the initial floodplains.
Vehicles can still cross the dam to visit the Arizona viewpoints and concessions, but all are required to turn around and re-enter Nevada to access Highway 93.
In summary, a reasonably priced Las Vegas trip cost for two adults, would be just under $1,000 per person. This includes flights, accommodation, transportation, food, and entertainment. Keep in mind that this is just an estimate and the cost can vary depending on the options you include.
Budget at least $75 per day for an affordable Las Vegas trip
Budgeting around $75 per day can get you a decent Las Vegas trip if you stick to cheap accommodations, eat out sparsely or go bare-bones and grocery shop for your hotel mini fridge, take public transportation, and limit your gambling.
The West Rim is the closest rim to Las Vegas. It is located about 130 miles from the heart of Las Vegas. On average, the drive takes approximately two and a half hours. Both the North Rim and South Rim are located over 270 miles from the Las Vegas Strip.
Vegas is more fun during any weekday than anywhere else I've been, and prices for some things like buffets and tours are a little cheaper too. Some places and shows have later start times until Friday, but I've never found it too inconvenient or late.
The busiest time is is New Years eve and the 2 days prior. The second busiest weekend is Super Bowl. After that busy times are; The beginning of March Madness when ever one puts their bets in.
This all depends on the season you plan to go. But, ideally, the cheapest days are: Wednesday, Tuesday, and then Saturday's. For the busiest days, try staying away from Friday's and Sunday's. Tuesday or Wednesday.
Save even more by visiting between Sunday and Thursday when prices are much lower. Off-the-Strip resorts and hotels are also budget-friendly options and easily accessible by Uber or Lyft. Each offering a fabulous Las Vegas experience, consider staying at Palace Station Hotel Casino or South Point Hotel Casino & Spa.
