When we talk business numbers, many folks love to mention that they're a "six-figure" business. Those six figures usually mean net sales or revenue, but how often do we celebrate businesses that reach six figures in pounds diverted from the landfill? Earlier this year, Scraplanta Creative Reuse reached the 100,000 lb milestone in materials donations. Over 5000 people from 180 different zip codes were brave enough to journey to our hidden location to bring supplies from their classrooms, film sets, offices, and even their grandma's attics! My team has been extremely diligent with weighing donations and recording categories, so we can see what we get in our store. If you're wondering how we're able to process such a large volume of donations in a 2920 sq ft space, it's because we use different tools to educate our donors to streamline the process. Our website provides a thorough visual donation guide called "The Periodic Table of Creative Reuse". We also have recycling guides for the materials that we don't accept that connect folks to more sustainable enterprises throughout Atlanta. www.Scraplanta.org#wastediversion #creativereuse

According to #Goodwill, there are 7 great reasons to donate clothing and other items:🥇”When You #DonateClothing, You’re Reducing #Consumerism and Waste: Americans throw away more than 68 pounds of #clothing and #textiles, per person, each year. That’s a lot of waste! When you donate clothing instead, you’re reducing your #carbonfootprint and doing your part to make the world a healthier place. You might not think you’re making a huge difference, but if everyone donates clothes worthy of a second home, it could substantially reduce the amount of waste that ends up in our landfills.”ReignBow ReNEWed starts its GIVE 2 DRIVE donation campaign on August 25. We look forward to your #donations!GOT QUESTIONS? https://bit.ly/Give2Drive OR (833) 727-3639.
